3 Steps to go from Exhausted to Energized

Bottom Line:

Did you eat a little too much over the holiday season, break your normal daily routine, and now you’re feeling a bit sluggish returning to life after the holidays? Let’s be honest, getting use to waking up early, getting the kids ready for school/or returning to school, and back to meetings all day can be exhausting after a bit of relaxation.

Changes to your regular sleep schedule, dietary intake, and exercise routine can significantly impact your energy levels and leave your body struggling, even with that extra shot of espresso into your morning cup of energy!

If that is you, don’t worry! Lucky for you, we have prepared a short list of simple and effective steps to help you enjoy a happy, healthy and more energized 2022! (Yes, I typed 2021 the first time) Being drowsy, lacking concentration, and just wanting to take a nap is not how you’re going to accomplish your 2022 goals. You need to increase your body’s performance!

Why it Matters:

While you’re walking around feeling tired and sluggish or moving in slow-motion, you may notice some aches and pains start to develop.

However, what might be less noticeable is the impact that exhaustion is having on your brain and immune system function. Your brain and immune system also need high performance. Now more than ever!

Those are just a couple of the reasons (very important reasons) taking proactive steps to boost your energy is so important for your overall health, wellness and performance!

*Drumroll please*

Here are our top 3 GO-TO strategies to help you to get ENERGIZED!

1.  Strive for Daily Exercise. Exercising sounds like it would make you more tired right? That is actually the exact opposite that actually happens within the body when the action of exercise takes place!  Exercise actually increases your energy levels, brain activity, and can even help support your immune system function. Exercising properly certainly increases your entire body’s performance!

2.  Set Your Sleep Schedule. Your body’s internal clock runs on a daily cycle called your circadian rhythm. This internal clock runs on a 24-hour cycle just like our external clocks . Prioritizing going to sleep and waking up at approximately the same time on a daily basis helps regulate these cycles and helps your body get the most out of your sleep allowing you to wake up feeling energized!

3.  Eat Right. One of the most important results of eating properly is your blood sugar levels. Keeping your blood sugar balanced is key to supporting your overall energy levels. Ever hear of the “sugar high” ,or have been a witness to it? What happens shortly after, CRASH! Eating more whole foods and reducing your sugar intake can help keep your energy levels more consistent and balanced throughout the day assuring performance output.

Next Steps:

Taking a proactive approach to boosting your energy levels is the best way to improve your mental and physical output, and help your perform your best in 2022!

Don’t feel like you have to tackle them all at once, start implementing one strategy until it becomes part of your daily routine before you begin to add onto it with the next step. Regardless of how you plan to begin, you must do just that, BEGIN!
